Dyana Winkler is one of Variety's 2019 top 10 documentary filmmakers to watch for. Dyana Winkler is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, straddling the worlds of both fiction and documentary. Her documentary, United Skates, which she wrote, directed, and produced, had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and was later acquired by HBO. United Skates was executive produced by John Legend and was supported by The Sundance Film Institute, Chicken and Egg, Film Independent, and more.  On the fiction side, Winkler has participated in the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab, SFFILM Fellowship, and the Film Independent Producing Lab. Hawaiian Vacation is her narrative feature debut. Originally from Hawaii, Winkler currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
